Even from far away, the colorful cow figures on the roof signal the unique experience this modern building is about to offer.
During your visit to the Zillertal Show Dairy, you will learn all about daily life at an alpine dairy, and will even be able to look over the shoulder of a master cheese-maker as he processes the milk. They have their own shop, while there is also a milk bar and a restaurant with a broad, covered terrace. The dairy hosts regular theme programs, as well as special events with famous music groups from Zillertal.

With the help of the high-capacity Ahornbahn gondola lift, which affords amazing views on every side, you will ride up to an elevation of 2,000 meters in just six minutes. Once there, visitors have an amazing wealth of opportunities to choose from. Right there at the mountain terminal, you can take in the surrounding vistas from the Zillertal Panorama Platform. The Eagle Stage provides the setting for a fascinating bird-of-prey show. Clearly marked hiking paths offer a broad variety of hiking options for the whole family.

Zillertal Alps Nature Park - Quiet Zone since 1991

Aside from our ski and hiking areas, the Zillertal is also home to so-called Quiet Zones, in which no more lifts or roads are allowed to be built. Zillertal Alps Nature Park plays an important role when it comes to nature preservation, environmental education, research and regional development. Visitors are especially recommended to visit the permanent exhibition at Ginziling Nature Park House, as well as to participate in one or more events offered as part of an extensive summertime program, including some 230 guided theme hikes

Schlegeis Alpine Road will take you to en elevation of around 1800 meters and the site of Schlegeis Reservoir. The area around the reservoir serves as the starting point for many attractive alpine tours amid the alpine pastures and high peaks of the Zillertal Alps.
The Tourism Alliance provides all kinds of information and hosts numerous interesting events, including guided tours of the dam wall and the power plant.

Hanging off a vertical wall...

The numerous bizarre cliff faces and rock formations of the Upper Zillertal have a magical attraction for mountaineering fans. Alpinists are sure to find a summit tour that is destined to become a personal favorite.

This is the location of one of the country's biggest bouldering areas, as well as a number of rock-climbing routes. This includes two 60 meters-high granite blocks just a few minutes' walk from the road. The climbing centers offers climbs that rate from level 4 to 10, and is generally regarded as one of the most beautiful in Europe. The Penken climbing area serves up climbs rated 4 - 8+, as well as a via ferrata for everyone, where even inexperienced climbers can sample a hint of adventure.
